Bell, who was a shy kid when she was younger, understood she needed to come out of her shell, especially if she wanted to be a TV meteorologist.
She was a part of the Gate Program in elementary school, which specialized in gifted-and-talented students like herself and provided her with extra exposure to computers and other things that helped her feel more confident in herself academically.
